Job Description:As a Problem Management team leader, the successful candidate will undertake guidance and management of a global team of Problem Managers charged with facilitating and managing investigations of IT service disruptions. The Problem Management Team manager will also collaborate with the leaders of the numerous other teams who contribute to and depend on Problem Management services including Incident Management, Major Incident Management, Account Management, Application and Infrastructure Engineering, Business teams, and other key partners and customers. The manager will be responsible for ensuring operational and organization readiness of the Problem Management team members and that all processes prescribed by IT Operations Process governance are utilized and adhered to. Key responsibilities for the position are: Directs the efforts of others in the achievement of the strategic and operational objectives of the Problem Management team. Manages the hiring, staffing and maintaining of a diverse and effective workforce. Responsible for career development/ planning, performance and pay discussions of team members. Communicates and translates Dell vision/ strategy to staff. Responsible for executing on functional and business goals for the Problem Management team. Facilitates and manages the collaboration and engagement with and between Problem Management partner/ peer Business and IT teams Addresses problems across functional areas of the business. Influences individuals within and outside the IT department. Responsible for meeting budgetary goals and objectives. Prepares and presents reports to all levels of leadership and staff. The primary responsibilities of the Problem Management team members that the Problem Management team manager will be responsible for include: Analyze existing data to identify trends and failure mode themes, then initiate formal investigation to identify root cause(s) and define actionable corrective actions/ solutions to remediate risk of recurrence. Assemble virtual, cross functional global teams for conducting effective root cause analysis (RCA) investigations. Drive root cause analysis process to timely and accurate closure through determined investigations, persistent follow up, and effective collaboration with subject matter experts, business partners and vendors. Track, Report and Facilitate meetings with global teams to drive close loop for each RCA to ensure all defined corrective actions delivered as expected and/ or actioned timely Present updates, findings and key performance indicators to senior management. Collaborate with global team members at different time zones Meet SLA and Quality goals on all Problem and PTASK/ PKE management activities
